Businesses can't be taxed -- Fairtax says -- because they will just pass on the cost of those taxes to people.

Fine -- I buy that.

But hidden in their fine print, Fairtax is based on the GOVERNMENT paying massive taxes. How the @!$*- can government pay the taxes?

Pages 138-142 The Fairtax Answer Book -- all cities and states will be major taxpayers too.

The federal government CAN NOT POSSIBLY pay itself a tax. If you tax the military 30 billion in sales taxes, for example, the US Treasury has to pay that OUT. So it's not getting anything IN. It's preposterous nonsense -- and Fairtax knows this.

Fairtax has to pretend to tax the government to make their BS "work" on paper.


Fairtax supporters have an excuse. They say government employees pay FICA now -- so "what's the problem?"

It does not matter one iota if there is FICA now. The federal government writing itself checks for massive sales tax is bullshit, FICA or not.

Fairtax supposedly is "the most researched economic plan in American history". Some research. It's total bullshit, from start to finish.

In fact, they have NO research at all - each "research" paper starts with the assumption it works like magic -- and then tells you all the great things that come from the magic.

For example their "research" explains all about how great it will be when the USA is once again an economic powerhouse -- with our businesses the envy of the world from having no taxes.

In 13 years no major corporation has come out AT ALL for Fairtax. Why not?

Corporations would LOVE not to pay taxes. And if Fairtax had ANY research which indicated their plan would work -- at all -- corporations would flock to it, support it, insist Congress consider it.

But none of that is happening -- because Corporations know FT is pure bullshit.

Corporations were NEVER fooled by this silliness. Not for a minute. They know that the government can't create income to itself by pretending to tax itself.

Sure - a national sales tax would work fine -- and we could exempt corporations from all taxation. But it would be over 60%, not the 23% Fairtax claims.

Why would Fairtax claim to tax the government, and then hide that in their fine print?

Well, they HAD to pretend to tax the government so that ON PAPER they could claim they brought in enough revenue.

But they also had to hide this in the fine print. If cities and states knew that Fairtax would create this massive new tax -- Fairtax would be laughed off the national stage.

Fairtax has not told one mayor, not one governor, not one state legislature about this massive new tax.

Fairtax claims its "transparent, honest, open" but hides this massive new tax.

This is how you can tell that Fairtax leaders know it's pure bullshit -- cause they deliberately hide the biggest source of revenue -- this nonsensical tax on government. If Fairtax really believed they could tax every city and state, and tax the federal government, they wouldn't hide this nonsense. They would be candid about it.


It's impossible for the federal government to pay itself taxes, but theoretically, cities and states could pay them.

If Fairtax is transparent --- why doesnt ANY state, or city, or government entity, knows that Fairtax is planning a huge new tax on them?

Fairtax is avoiding all hearings under oath, precisely because of this nonsense. LIsten to any of the dwindling number of Fairtax speeches -- YouTube has a few of these "True Believers." Not one mentions a word about this massive new tax on cities and states.

The True Believers don't know any better -- lets cut them some slack. Fairtax hid it from them too -- you have to read the books line by line to notice this huge new tax.

But True Believers never mention this new tax. Fairtax never mentions it.

Apparently Fairtax has an office SOMEWHERE, although they seem to keep it a secrty. They also claimed to have 600,000 volunteers, and predicted 6 million volunteers by 2002.

I doubt if there are six people actively supporting and working Fairtax -- and most of them seem like brainwashed moonies who have no idea themselves what Fairtax is -- a farce.


IF Fairtax were on the level -- they would have offices -- they would have places for their 600,000 volunteers to meet. Because Fairtax is deceptive to its core -- they find it easy to distort everything about the plan.


Maybe you can see why Fairtax avoids hearings under oath.

Do they think they can pass this nonsense -- then tell the cities and states to pay up? Do they seriously think the cities and states will start to write them checks for over a trillion dollars?

Fairtx leaders know their own plan is bullshit.They know they don't have 600,000 volunteers, they know they wouldn't dare try to tell every city and state they have to pay massive new taxes, they know the whole thing is bullshit.

But Fairtax had a problem -- our government spending is so high, that Fairtax could not get enough revenue from just taxing people.

So Fairtax decided to tax the government.

Make the military pay sales tax -- the Army, the Navy. Not just the military, Medicaid too! Tax medicare.

Fairtax is fair -- it treats everyone alike: state and local governments would pay this too. Every city, every police department, every couny, every state also pays this tax. ( See: Fairtax Answers The Critics, Page 138-142.)

There are what, 4,000 cities in the USA? That's 4,000 cities paying sales tax on all their spending. Fifty states. Every township, county, and park district. Every everything will be paying the world's highest sales tax -- on all their spending.

It's a great idea. No nation on earth has ever placed a sales tax on itself, and all its government units. Don't worry -- this has been thoroughly thought out.

Under Fairtax, any time the government spends money -- it has to pay the US Treasury 23-30% sales tax. What could be more simple?

California budget is 1.1 trillion this year. So California will owe the federal government 200 -300 billion in sales taxes! Fairtax is a perpetual motion machine! Plus of course every city in California, and every county.

Between all the cities, counties, and the state, California will provide massive taxation for the country!

Oh -- Arnold will be upset, sure. But just tell him to read the Fairtax Book -- its magical in it's knowledge. Once he reads the book, he will be glad to pay 200 billion or so in taxes. No problem.

No wonder Fairtax guru Boortz said the biggest problem might be -- we get TOO much money.

There are those who think that taxing the government to get government revenue is insane, preposterous and a gimmick. (Probably IRS agents -- Boortz warned us that Fairtax would be attacked!)

There are those who say Fairtax should have mentioned up front their plan is to tax all cities, all police departments, even tax the military and medicare. Well -- Fairtax did mention it, sorta kinda. In the back of their books. Don't blame Fairtax that everyone didn't read the fine print -- its clear as the nose on your face, if your nose is on page 148.

It's not like they were trying to HIDE anything, right? I mean, come ON, who would lie about taxes!!!

So Fairtax is on the level. It cares. It says it is honest -- so it's honest.

So yes, we can tax the government. We can make the government write itself checks, and cash those checks for money!

In 2003, President Bush asked for a report on all the major tax proposals -- including Fairtax!! The Joint Committee on taxation did a report for him. They gave him the report in 2005.

Someone must have bribed the Joint Committee on taxation! They just figured a national sales tax on PEOPLE. As if people pay all taxes.

The Joint Committee didn't figure in a tax on the government. No tax on the federal government - no tax on city, county and state government.!

No wonder they came up with a Fairtax rate over 60%! If they are going to count only people's taxes -- OF COURSE the tax rate would be 60% -- DUH.

Plus, a spending tax on each county, each police department etc.

For example, the California state budget is 1.1 trillion dollars. Fairtax would levy 250 billion dollar tax on California. And a tax on every city in it, every county, every police department, etc.

Add all 50 states - and all counties, all cities, and you see its a massive revenue stream. Plus -- of course -- the tax on the federal government spending too.

Where will the government GET the money? They can't -- not without doubling to tripling taxes it collects FROM people.

Don't want to pay 100,000 in sales tax on a new home? You don't have to they say -- buy a used home. (Never mind that new home sales would go into the toilet by taxing them).

Okay - fine. Buy a used house. Buy a used car.

But how do you buy used surgery? Or used life-saving drugs. How do you buy used cancer treatment?

Fairtax plans on getting 30% of the 2 trillion dollar medical industry -- by placing a 30% sales tax on all medical care.

Never mind that millions of people won't be able to pay 100K in sales tax on their fight against cancer - Fairtax math is BASED on collecting every penny of it. Fairtax math is based on getting 30% of all medical cost - even on the poor, the old, the young,

This is why Fairtax is not taken seriously.

Oh -- Fairtax fools a lot of stupid people. Fairtax fooled some smart people too -- for a while. But once the smart people saw the DETAILS of the Fairtax -- they walked away from it, embarrassed they ever were fooled.

How would Fairtax collect a sales tax on cancer surgery -- on nursing home care? What if the cancer victim didn't have 30,0000 for sales tax?

But Fairtax math is based on EVERYONE paying this tax, rich or poor, insurance or not. There are no exceptions or exemptions --Fairtax can not allow any, or their math won't add up.

Speaking of used surgery and used chemotherapy -- what about used electricity - used insurance premiums -- used food-- used airline tickets -- used phone bills.

A cancer patients buys the Federal government 3 Humvees

Someone has to pay for those military Humvees, the Space Shuttle, and Congressional pay. Fairtax supposedly has all of us pay those costs in a fair way?

Suppose my nieghbor and I are exactly alike financially, and we each pay 10,000 in sales "Fairtax" cause we each buy about the same amount of stuff.

Till my neighbor develops breast cancer, and her child develops luekemia.

The average cost to fight breast cancer is 300,000 dollars. The average cost to fight leukemia is 400,000.

Because of "Fair" tax, my neighbor suddenly has 700,000 in medical bills.

And just as suddenly, she has 250,000 in sales taxes, because there are no exceptions or exemptions under fairtax.

Suddenly she have to pay enough taxes to buy two Humvees. Meanwhile, I only have to buy two tires for it.

What's fair about that? Why was she only going to have to pay for two tires -- like I had to pay. Why suddenly she had to buy two complete Humvees? SHe only makes 20,000 dollars. How is she going to pay 250,000 in sales tax?

Even the Fairtax "sponsors" in Congress have backed off, and its reported they themselves don't take it seriously. They apparently know now --- and probably always did -- that its hooey.

You don't have to worry about the critics stopping Fairtax. The Fairtax leaders would stop it. They arent about to force this on the people -- it would be political suicide to enact the provisions of this tax -- the highest sales tax on gasoline -- cutting the gross income of wage earners -- putting the worlds highest sales tax on cancer surgery and chemo -- making people pay the worlds highest sales tax on new homes and cars -- etc.

No politician in his right mind will ever let such things pass over his signature.

Someone wrote to this blog -- bless him -- saying that since only a small percentage of people get cancer (he says) it wont matter politically that Fairtax wants to put the highest sales tax on earth on chemotherapy, cancer surgery, and all medical cost.

Well -- first of all, probably 1/3 of us will face some sort of cancer sometime -- or our spouse will, or our children will, or our parents or siblings will.
